Musings With L. VanHorn #eroticfantasy #interview

I’m pleased to have L. VanHorn here today to tell us a little about herself and the sexy new release Valkyrie Slumbering. Check out that cover! Very sexy. Without further ado, let’s get to the interview.

SK: What do you do when you’re not writing? Skydiving? Deep sea diving?

LVH: Anything that involves the outdoors. Kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, I’m an outdoor type of gal!

SK:  Where do you get your ideas?

LVH: All aspects of life inspires me but the core of my ideas start in myths, legends, and history.

SK:  Do you ever experience writer’s block and how do you get rid of it?

LVH: Unfortunately, I do fall prey to it. Exercise usually works but when that fails a shower or bath always does the trick. Something about water gets my muse in gear!

SK:  Are you a plotter, pantster or a hybrid?

LVH: I’m a hybrid, so glad you added that option! I like to do a loose plot and allow the story and characters to dictate where the plot goes.

SK: Is there an author or book who/which influenced you to become a writer?

LVH: In the beginning Jean Auel and Anne Rice inspired me to write. Odd combination, I know. 😉

SK: Tell us about your upcoming book or new release.

LVH: My erotic fantasy novella, Valkyrie Slumbering just released and the sequel will be coming out this winter. I would describe it as: Steamy nights in ancient Iceland, a search for vengeance, and creatures from Midgard complicating the whole matter. Rich in Viking lore, this fantasy novella will appeal to those who enjoy romance, fantasy, and erotica.

SK: How do you come up with your titles?

LVH: Titles usually come to me when the story idea does, or shortly after. I then google to make sure they haven’t been done before~or at least not to the extreme~to make sure they’re unique and adjust accordingly. To me a title must say something about the book.

SK: Is there a theme or location you love to write about?

LVH: From my title you probably already guessed, but I love Viking lore. The Norse were fierce and often brutal but they also shaped the world as we know it today.

SK: Light or dark chocolate?

LVH: Definitely dark! Though I love both.

SK:  Dogs or Cats?

LVH: Cats, I like independent creatures.

SK: Light side or dark side?

LVH: Dark.

SK: Star Trek or Star Wars?

LVH: Yes. I love sci-fi, what can I say?

SK: What is your favorite color?

LVH: Green.

Now here’s more about Valkyrie Slumbering!

?????????After the murder of her father, Kyra’s heart is consumed by the need for revenge. The hunt is all that matters. But a chance crossing of paths with the alluring and mysterious Grim threatens to derail her focus and her quest. Something about him draws her in, melts her walls, and speeds her heart. Like her, he is half Alfhiem, but it’s more than that. He’s funny, considerate, and treats her as an equal even in battle, something most of the Vikings of her native homeland would never do.

Steamy nights is one thing, but Kyra can’t allow her heart to become wrapped up with anyone, not until she finds and kills the man who murdered her father. Traveling across the countryside with Grim, though, challenges her resolve in more ways than she thought possible. She still hungers for the hunt but that hunger begins to dim in comparison to the one that grows inside her for Grim.

Creatures that could only be from the legendary land of Midgard interrupt their hunt again and again, creatures that shouldn’t exist in this realm. Soon it becomes unclear whether or not Kyra and Grim are the hunters, or the hunted. But who would hunt them, and why?
