Goal Accomplished:My First Short Story
I did it. On October 18, 2012, I declared I would attempt to finish a short story within 30 days. The first draft was sent off to be critiqued yesterday. I was really excited.
Then I woke up in the middle of the night realizing I needed to change something. I’m okay with it. It is a first draft, and I’m glad I caught the faulty plot element before I tried to send it to my editor. So, three cheers for editing and revision. And as Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory says, “Thank you brain.”
I didn’t post a Zen Sunday post today. With Frankenstorm Sandy, day job deadlines, edits, writing deadlines and other random foolishness, there really wasn’t anything Zen about the week. Maybe next time.
